Re: Update #3 - UA Parking & Transportation Services Permit Parking
Plan for the October 20th
Football Game
On Thursday, October 20, 2011, our Wildcat Football Team will face off
against the UCLA Bruins. The kick off for the game is at 6:00 P.M.
To accommodate this event, Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) must
ensure there is parking for as many as 60,000 football fans. This will
cause some disruption to our campus due to the early Thursday kick off time.
We know this will cause some stress to some on campus because your normal
parking arrangements may be unavailable. We apologize for the disruption
but have made strategic decisions to lessen the impact.
For simplicity, PTS is providing each of our permit holders in the affected
areas assigned alternate parking. The assigned alternate parking will
ensure you know where to park on game day and allow you to adjust your
schedule or route for additional travel time that may be required to
navigate to/from your alternate parking location for Thursday, October 20.
Permit holders that are assigned an alternate parking location for game day
will be sent an email from PTS approximately one week before game day
indicating the temporary parking assignment. Please let your employees and
students know to watch for this information.
Permit holders affected on game day currently park in Cherry Garage, Lots
6090, 6092, 6093, 6097, 6098 and National Championship Drive.
Visitor parking may be difficult to find and as the day progresses on
October 20th parking in many areas will become limited. Highland Avenue,
Park Avenue, Main Gate, and Tyndall Avenue garages will be available on game
day for limited visitor parking. If you have a permit for an area that
becomes full as game time approaches, you may be directed to another area.
PTS will have staff at the garages and lots as well as signs directing
vehicles to alternate parking. Please allow extra time both for the amount
of traffic on the streets around campus and for navigating to/from your
parking location.
As you plan for October 20th, please consider your alternative
transportation options, such as biking, walking, carpooling, and the Sun
Tran system. Information on Sun Tran bus schedules and routes may be found
at www.suntran.com <http://www.suntran.com/> . Cat Tran will be operating
normally until about 12 Noon. You may find Cat Tran helpful in traveling
from your alternate parking location to a location nearer your destination.

understanding and support of Arizona Athletics.
