He is a final-year PhD candidate in the School of Geography and the Environment at the University of Oxford. His research focusses on pastoralist commons in Chitral, Pakistan. He also did his Master's degree there; his
thesis looked at the changing pastoralist livelihood in Yarkhoon, Chitral. Wahid is one of the founders of Oxford University Collective for Pastoralist and Nomadic Peoples. He has worked with Oxford Net Zero, the Institute of Ismaili Studies, the Oxford Vice-Chancellor's Colloquium on Climate and other organisations on issues around climate change, sustainability and carbon net zero. He is also the founder of Chitral Heritage and Environmental Protection Society (CHEPS) youth wing and Chitral Academics Circle. He has been advocating
