[IYRPsupportgroup] FYI: New co-chair for Mexico in the Regional IYRP Support Group (RISG) in North America

Dear all,

David Borré has informed us that he is stepping down as the Mexican co-chair in the Regional IYRP Support Group (RISG) in North America and will be replaced by Javier Ochoa:

"The new POC for Mexico will be Javier Ochoa (cc'd here) from the Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro in Coahuila, Mexico. Javier brings over 20 years of experience in grassland and arid zone restoration, watershed, and river management. He spent 15 years working with the National Commission for Natural Protected Areas and has built solid connections with key U.S. agencies, such as the National Park Service, USDA, and TPWD. Javier recently joined the university and has been actively involved in initiatives like the Mexico Society for Grassland Management. He has the leadership, organizational skills, and strategic vision to carry the IYRP message forward in Mexico, especially with the new Federal Government.”

Welcome to the IYRP alliance, Javier! And thank you, David, foryour contributions to the IYRP2026 thus far - and hopefully still in the future in another capacity!
