Dear Jon,

Thank you for sharing this and delighted to hear that Nitya is charing this working group.

Having read the draft, I would like to propose the inclusion of the following theme or objective: 

How is the ‘gender’ dimension routinely misunderstood, misapplied, or even weaponised in pastoral development policies and programmes in support of the usual goals of promoting sedentarization and globalization — and what measures can be taken for limiting and counteracting this problem?

This problem is not unique to ‘gender’ of course, and not different from what happens with other important dimensions such as ‘participation’, ’sustainability’, climate change’ etc.

@Nitya, should the working group find my proposal relevant, and seek more detail, I am at your disposal for a chat.
