Dear all,

Although the announcement does not specifically mention the IYRP, you can be sure that it will be mentioned during the webinar to highlight the increasing worldwide interest in pastoralism as a nature-based agroecological system. Translation into French and Spanish will be available.

Thanks to Loupa for sharing the announcement.

Cheers,
Ann

> Pastoralism is a way of life for millions of people around the world. Though they ensure food security in some of the world's harshest environments, pastoralist groups – many of them made up of Indigenous Peoples – are largely excluded from public discourse and policy-making surrounding land use and tenure. This marginalization is compounded by the degradation of their ancestral lands, the depletion of their natural resources, and the systematic violation of their rights.

> Agroecology Fund grantee partners from Africa to Asia to the Americas are defending pastoralist land and cultures while restoring grazelands and Indigenous breeds. In doing so, they strengthen community food security and sovereignty and conserve ancestral practices that are cornerstones of climate-resilient food systems.

> Please join us to learn more about pastoralism and agroecology from actors working at the forefront of this intersection:
>
> Indira Raimberdy from the Golden Hoof Collaborative (Kyrgyzstan): The Golden Hoof Collaborative revives indigenous livestock to bring back prosperity and dignity to nomadic peoples and to enhance the connections between human beings and nature.
> Mali Ole Kaunga from IMPACT (Kenya): IMPACT, the Indigenous Movement for Peace Advancement and Conflict Transformation in Kenya, works to secure pastoralists rights, support Indigenous peoples land stewardship and fortify community food security.
> Dr. Ian Scoones from PASTRES (UK): PASTRES (Pastoralism, Uncertainty and Resilience: Global Lessons from the Margins) is a research programme that aims to learn from the ways that pastoralists respond to uncertainty, applying such ‘lessons from the margins’ to global challenges.
