Dear all,
Here is a call for nominations of delegates to take part in the Dana Declaration+20 meeting in Jordan this September. See more information on the IYRP website (https://www.iyrp.info/dana-declaration-mobile-peoples-conservation <https://www.iyrp.info/dana-declaration-mobile-peoples-conservation>) and the Dana Declaration website (http://danadeclaration.org/ <http://danadeclaration.org/>) and the Dana Declaration itself in several languages (http://danadeclaration.org/main_declaration.shtml <http://danadeclaration.org/main_declaration.shtml>).
Please note that the nominated delegates would be attending as persons from groups of mobile peoples - and I think these could include mobile pastoralist groups that do not necessarily regard themselves as indigenous. (Ariell can correct me if I am wrong.)
Cheers,
Ann

> Seeking Nominations for Delegates for Dana Declaration +20 Summit in Jordan, 7-10 September 2022
>
> We are searching for possible delegates to attend the Dana Declaration+20 workshop. We are looking for a total of 16 delegates from around the world to work together over three days in September 2022 to exchange knowledge and explore ways forward for mobile Indigenous peoples in a world of increasing pressures due to extractive industries, climate change and sedentist bias in development.
>
> The workshop will be held between 7-10 September 2022 in Jordan. We are striving to bring a small group of academics and practitioners to interact with16 delegates of mobile Indigenous peoples groups for three days to reflect and re-examine and revise the Dana Declaration to meet the concerns of mobile peoples 20 years on. A few elements of the programme have been predetermined – a session on legal rights of mobile indigenous peoples and a session drafting a statement to take to international forums such as the COP 27 and COP 28 and the UNPFII in NY. However the full agenda will be shaped and finalized by the delegates themselves.
>
> We are hoping to have delegates from South America, Central Asia, South and East Asia, South East Asia and North Africa, Southern Africa, the America and Europe, Arctic Circle to share their concerns and experiences.
>
> We would be grateful if you would consider nominating delegates from mobile Indigenous peoples that you represent or are in touch with. We hope to achieve some gender parity but appreciate that will not be possible in all regions of the world.
>
> The Dana Standing Committee will be meeting on May 25 to select delegates. If you could provide us the names and a short description/bio of possible delegates before then, it would be much appreciated. We are collecting many nominations and will select final delegates on 25th May.
