[IYRPsupportgroup] FYI: Pastoralism film festival organised by CELEP on behalf of IYRP at Tropentag 2022

Dear all,

Just in case any of you will have a chance to join the Tropentag conference in Prague next month, I attach a flyer about the film festival that CELEP (Coalition of European Lobbies for Eastern African Pastoralism) is organising on behalf of the IYRP. Several films that were selected for the second edition of the Perspectives on Pastoralism Film Festival will be shown during the Tropentag in Prague on Wednesday evening, 14 Sept and Thursday noon 15 Sept. Hussein Wario from the Centre for Research & Development in Drylands (CRDD) in northern Kenya (and the IYRP Support Group in Eastern & Southern Africa) will be introducing the film festival and he, together with Raphael Gudere (likewise with CRDD) and Nasaa Garmaa (Mongolia) will be in the panel discussion after the films shown on Wednesday evening. Anthony Denayer will be facilitating the discussion.

During the Tropentag, there will also be a workshop on pastoralism, agroecology and climate change on Thursday afternoon, organised by DITSL (German Institute for Tropical & Subtropical Agriculture), likewise a member of CELEP,together with Saverio Krätli, editor of Nomadic Peoples.

If any of you are planning to be at the Tropentag next month, please let us know.

All of the newly selected films for the 2nd edition of the film festival will be posted shortly on the website (https://www.pastoralistfilmfestival.com/ <https://www.pastoralistfilmfestival.com/>), as soon as we receive permission from the filmmakers to make them public online.
