[IYRPsupportgroup] IUCN World Conservation Congress approves IYRP resolution

 Dear all of you,
    I am a pastoral anthropologist in Albania, and I am sorry that I had no time to work more with you these past two months. We have too difficult a situation to manage alone in Albania without any support from the government and the UNESCO dossier to finish in time within this situation of impossible collaboration. But of course, I am with you, and will involve myself more and more within the next months.
    If I write to you, it is because I proposed as the coordinator of The House of Shepherd and Transhumance working with represerntatives from shepherds in all massifs from northern Albania that we will make in November 'les Assises du pastoralisme transhumant'  a kind of sympozium where we will discuss with the Ministry of Agriculture and other ministries, as well as local and regional powers, about ideas for safeguarding plans and to make operational plans all together. For this, we plan to mobilise UNDP Albania. As UNDP is the United Nation Development Programs, I think it is a very great opportunity to talk also about our project for the international year of pastoralism 2026, and with what we are preparing. I hope also next week on friday that I will meet after the congres in Colmar with Ferit Hoxha, who is the albanian ambasador at UNESCO, and who may be soon, as it is talked about in actuality, become the albanian ambasador at United Nations. Also this thursday or friday, I will work together with FAO Albania in Tirana and with the German Development Agency, GIZ. 
    Now, I am asking from you to give me clear directives on how we can use these meetings to promote also the events our working group is facing. I am trying, as I am with French origine, to go to the French Embassy on friday morning, before I leave Albania, to ask that the French Development Agency is paying for the coming of two pastoral experts from France for the event in November to help us. And we could imagine concerning IYRP that we could also invite someone. I was thinking to ask Letizia Bindi who is my very respected teacher with whom I am working now, several years, to be the president of the Scientific Council for this event, but I have not talked yet with her/you. But we want also, to look with the Italian authorities and development agencies to invite you for this event. We could imagine a second person who represents IYRP working group. And you can decide to propose one delegate.
    I am in Tirana all Thursday. Could we imagine that, in about the evening time, we could have a short zoom conference to agree together about strategies as to what to say to the different interlocutors and have an appropriate strategy all together. You could decide who can be invited from our IYRP working group. At the end of next week, as coordinator of The House of Shepherd and Transhumance, I would like after the congres in Colmar, to propose a scientific comittee for the organization of this symposium, and I would like that you decide also which person could be present in the Scientific Committee from our IYRP working group. Then we will see how to find the money for his/her coming in November to Albania. The worst case scenario will be if there is a bad evolution with the COVID sanitary crisis where this expert will have to be present online.
    The time is very short, so please, I will be very thankful that we can discuss about all these issues in a timely manner. I have to be back by the end of the month in Albania, and begining of October. I must propose a very defined project for the event to UNDP. Letizia, if you accept, I would be very happy if you would accept to be the president of the scientific coordinator of this event in November. Please call me by whapsapp whenever you have time so we can discuss about it. I think personally, that UNESCO candidature and the world year of pastoralisem 2026 can be interconnected and we must use this opportunity of the event we are planning in November in northern Albania. Do not hesitate to give me advice. I am open to listen to all of you. It is together that we are all intelligent and capable of accomplishing great feats.
