Dear all,
The animated video on pastoralism is now available in the Catalan language - on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeqITzac9Ac <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeqITzac9Ac>) and also via the IYRP website (https://www.iyrp.info/resources/front <https://www.iyrp.info/resources/front>).
Many thanks to Ugo D’Ambrosio (Global Diversity Foundation) for making the translation and to Anthony Denayer (VSF Belgium) and Julia Esser (Misereor) for preparing and inserting the subtitles!
A translation into the Rendille language (spoken by pastoralists in northern Kenya) is now being made.
If anyone else is thinking of making additional language versions of this 2.5-minute video, please let me know and I will send you the original English script.
The next showing of the animated video “Pastoralism is the future” will be at the Joint International Grasslands and Rangelands Congress (IGC/IRC) on Monday 25 October at 15:45 CEST – together with numerous other videos from the first edition of the Perspectives on Pastoralism Film Festival. For a short teaser about the film festival, see https://youtu.be/xpDALwi2hZE <https://youtu.be/xpDALwi2hZE>
Films for the second edition of the film festival can now be submitted, using this link: https://filmfreeway.com/PerspectivesonPastoralismFilmFestival?utm_campaign=Perspectives+on+Pastoralism+Film+Festival&utm_medium=External&utm_source=Submission+Button <https://filmfreeway.com/PerspectivesonPastoralismFilmFestival?utm_campaign=Perspectives+on+Pastoralism+Film+Festival&utm_medium=External&utm_source=Submission+Button>

Ann

The Russian subtitles are still in the making.

The side event is on "Climate change and drylands – valuing variability for climate resilient development” in the Thematic Track “Integrated approaches for climate resilient development” and take place on Wednesday 29 September at 17:00-19:00 CEST. Inputs and discussion will be about how pastoralists are using climatic and environmental variability for sustainable production in the drylands and experiences in implementing devolved climate finance mechanisms in African drylands.
