Agree on resolutions 1 and 2, but:
Regarding resolution 3, I allow myself to comment that there are already proven methodologies and groups that work on their implementation with producers, the problem, generally in poor countries, is the lack of financial resources, for culturalization and support to implement the change of actions that benefit ecosystems. What could be done about it in an obvious time, considering the urgency of tackling the problems that in this year droughts and floods have overwhelmed us intensely in most of the world of grasslands and their use?
In particular, we have been working for 30 years, teaching courses and advising producers who do not have the economic capacity, and / or willingness and agile means to provide them with training services, advice and implementation of new ideas to recover pastures and make units of ecologically, economically and socially sustainable production.
We are being overtaken by climate change, it is urgent to act aggressively as soon as possible to work with the administrators of the land, the only ones who can reverse climate change, and achieve the mitigation objectives of climate change with all its problems, droughts, floods, hunger, poverty, crime and violence.

Dear IYRP International Support Group

The Joint International Grassland and International Rangeland Congress is being held 25 – 29th October 2021 virtually. One of the main themes of this Joint Congress is “Pastoralism, Social, Gender and Policy Issues”, in which the IYRP has been given two dedicated Concurrent Sessions on 26th October 2021. We are also grateful that the IYRP has been given a free Booth/Exhibit in the Information Market Place/Trade Show Area, and several individual scientific papers are focusing on pastoralism and rangelands.

The Joint Congress which is held every 4 years, is the highest scientific body for international rangeland and grassland issues. One of the Panel discussions during the IYRP Concurrent Sessions is being set aside for discussion of three possible Congress Resolutions. Congress Resolutions normally show commitment of members to take action in the 4 years before the next Congress, which will be in 2025. In our case, these resolutions are intended to provide guidance and direction for the Continuing Committees of both Congresses to further engage in supporting IYRP up to 2026.

We would like to ask your kind review of these three proposed draft resolutions. With your feedback, these draft resolutions will be tabled at the IYRP Concurrent Session on 26th October, 5:25 – 6:00 pm Nairobi Time for further discussion and approval. It will then be handed to the Congress Secretariat for a final endorsement during the Congress Plenary meeting.
