[IYRPsupportgroup] IYRP in the Joint Congress of IRC and IGC in Oct 2020

Dear Colleagues, here is a message from the Chair of the International
Support Group of IYRP Jim O'Rourke:

At the IGC/IRC in October of 2020 in Nairobi, Kenya the IYRP Support Group
will be conducting a Concurrent Panel Symposium.  The purpose of the
Symposium is to inform delegates of the progress made on obtaining an
International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and then to solicit input
from delegates to support activities in their home countries both prior to
and during the Year.
To that end there will be presentations on the history to date, suggestions
for engagement from representatives of regions around the world and a wrap
up presentation on resolutions to be submitted to the Continuing Committees
of both IRC and IGC.

The thought is that these resolutions will direct responsibility to members
of the CCs of both IRC and IGC as well as members of the IYRP SG to begin
to guide the development of plans for activities both from an educational
and a research point of view.  We are in the process of developing a draft
of those resolutions and will forwarding them to you shortly.

At this point we simply want to keep you informed of this upcoming
Symposium and are soliciting your support to that end.
