Dear Colleagues
On behalf of the International Support Group of IYRP, I would like to share
with you a draft proposal that we need to submit by 30th September to the
IRC/IGC Secretariat and seek any final comments you may have.
The purpose of the Concurrent Panel is to raise awareness about the IYRP.
But more importantly, the idea is that those of you attending the Congress
would work on the sidelines to develop a proposed IYRP Action Plan.
Exactly how we would do so and what the Action Plan might contain are still
up for discussion, so if you have any preliminary ideas please do share! We
will follow up soon with a detail proposal on this action planning idea.
The Concurrent Panel at the Congress would review the Action Plan and get
comments from the scientists assembled at the Congress. A draft Resolution
would also be developed and then presented to the IRC/IGC Resolutions
Committee for approval.
Please feel free to suggest any edits to this proposal, including the
nature of the presentations. Please keep in mind that the concurrent Panels
are only 90 minutes long.
Your views and reviews would be most appreciated by Monday 30th Sept. or
earlier. I am very very sorry for this rush, but rest assured that we can
adapt the proposal as we develop this idea further together in the coming
months.
