Thank you Jim for your question. As it was copied to the whole group let me
use this opportunity to reply and also update the group.
TheUNEA resolution has been edited by the Kenyan delegation and is a new
one because it addresses four issues not just one. It addresses the IYRP
but also the new idea brought forth by the Kenyan Govt of an International
Day. And thirdly it calls for implementation of the recommendations of the
Gap Analysis. And fourth it calls for several important actions to be taken
by countries towards sustainable R&P including rangeland restoration.
We expect a further edited version hopefully by beginning of next week as
it is already going through negotiations among country representatives
through the pre-conference regional processes.
