Dear Hijaba
Nice to listen form You.
I will do my best to join your meeting in Tashkent.
By the way, for the near future we will need to advocate for the IYRP by having side event during the COAG in 2020 but, if possible, before that during some other meeting of FAO governance bodies, as the most important thing we need to do is convince about it to countries’’ permanent representatives to FAO. The request for side event should come from Mongolia government as all the others countries do while requesting to have international years.
Best regards
Gregorio

Dear Gregorio,
Thank you very much. Yes, we received letter from FAO COAG Secretariat about the acceptance of Mongolian Government Proposal on IYRP. Thank you for you support!
Mongolian Government will soon respond to the COAG Secretariat ( many people now in annual leave) , and I hope MoFALI will participate more actively in coming FAO COAG Meeting, and then FAO Conferences, as inform the Head of NSG.
It is no problem declaring either 2016 or 2017 , as IYRP.
We are proposing IYRP, as it will promote globally ecosystem management, green development, biodiversity conservation, combat desertification, reduce rangeland degradation, and in same time respect and support traditions and culture of nomadic pastoralists living in harmony with nature, improving their livelihoods, and contributing WFS by expanding milk, dairy products, fiber, ecotourism, etc., etc...
The issues of meat is consumption matter in this period of even growing population, and sustainable pastoralism and rangeland management means reducing livestock number inline with carrying capacity of pasture and ecosystem management.
At the end of this week we are ILC members in Mongolia (NFPUG and others) will organize Mongolian Rangeland Community Forum in Khovd province, so we will also call for herder's support on IYRP.
Dear Gregorio . as we already invite you , we will happy for yours participation to the CAPA Meeting in Tashkent.
# All: We will happy also for all our IYRP network members to involve in some of following internal events of ILC/ Asia Rangelands Initiative, which are: 1) CAPA ( Central Asia Pastoralist Alliance) Working Group Meeting, will held in 10-11 Sept., 2019 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and 2) ILC Asia Land Forum in 01 Oct., 2019 in Rajastan, India, where we will have Parallel session on: Rangelands and Pastoralism. So if some of you stay during these time above mentioned places or countries please feel free to contact us for yours participation with sharing yours experiences and the support.
