[IYRP General List] IRC2025 in Australia with strong focus on IYRP2026: 3rd announcement

Third announcement of the IRC 2025 in Adelaide, Australia

The 12th International Rangeland Congress (IRC) will be held on 2–6 June 2025 in Adelaide, Australia, with the theme “Working together for our global rangelands future”.

With 2026 being proclaimed the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP) by the United Nations, the Australian Organising Committee of the IRC2025 is working closely with the IYRP Global Secretariat to ensure that the IRC programme and activities provide an important platform for discussing the challenges and opportunities facing rangelands and pastoralists worldwide.

This will include a Traditional/Indigenous Knowledge Forum that will be held immediately prior to the IRC. Indigenous land managers and traditional knowledge holders from around the world will be hosted by Australian First Nations peoples. Key insights from this Forum will be discussed within the main Congress Programme, which will feature two sessions focused on the IYRP 2026.

Registration for the IRC 2025 opens on 1 April 2024. The deadline for submitting abstracts for oral (15 min.), lightening (5 min.) or poster presentations is 2 June 2024.
