[IYRP General List] Grasp this chance! IYRP free virtual registration for 2023 SRM conference

Dear members of the International Year of Rangelands & Pastoralists (IYRP) general mailing list,

Free registration for virtual participation in the 2023 conference of the Society of Range Management (SRM) on the theme “Rangelands without borders” in Boise, Idaho, has been opened up to the entire IYRP general mailing list. A limited number of places are still available. 

The deadline to submit your request for free registration for virtual participation is 17:00 MST on Sunday 5 February 2023.

Some of the sessions will have simultaneous interpretation in Arabic, French, Mongolian, Russian and Spanish.

Attached is a (50-page!) programme of all the SRM events in the period 6–15 Feb. This can also be found online after you have registered and checked in (see also https://rangelands.org/annual-meeting-2023 <https://rangelands.org/annual-meeting-2023>). Registration will give you virtual access to all streamed events (plenary meetings, committee meetings, symposia, workshops, and oral presentations of papers). The poster sessions will not be streamed.

Some sessions (with page numbers in the attached programme) that focus on the IYRP are:

·       Symposium "Global issues influencing success for the IYRP 2026 & beyond” – with French & Spanish translation – 7 Feb 8:00–11:00 MST / 15:00–18:00 GMT (pp1–2) 

·       SRM Advisory Council meeting, presentation on IYRP – 12 Feb 10:30–10:45 MST /17:30–17:45 GMT (p3)

·       Opening plenary including 20 min. presentation on IYRP – with Arabic, French, Mongolian, Russian & Spanish translation – 13 Feb 8:00–10:00 MST / 15:00–17:00 GMT (p4)

·       Workshop “Stakeholder engagement for the IYRP 2026: action planning for the North American region” – with Spanish translation – 13 Feb 13:00–17:00 MST / 20:00–24:00 GMT (p13) 

·       Symposium “Rangeland Stewardship Council: Towards rangelands sustainability certification & verification” – 15 Feb 09:30–11:30 MST / 16:30–18:30 GMT (pp42–43) – a presentation about this will also be made in the symposium on 7 Feb

·       Oral paper “IYRP: amplifying local voices through film” – 15 Feb 13:30–13:45 MST / 20:30–20:45 GMT (p49).
