Not exactly but somewhat related, The Nature Conservancy has approached renewable development on working lands in the US through programs like Site Wind Right https://www.nature.org/en-us/what-we-do/our-priorities/tackle-climate-change/climate-change-stories/site-wind-right/

We are also looking at how smaller scale renewables can be deployed in a beneficial way for ranchers.

In Spain there is a big convulsion about the increasing interest for agrarian “unproductive” land for solar installations  and windmill installations. There are multiple local protests and there news about it in farmer unions websites ….
It will probable have more immediate effects on those again sector with less value and support, and pastoralism is clearly one of them, clearly in Spain and generally in Europe.

Due to the massive cost decrease of photovoltaics, solar energy derived vom large scale solar farms in the dry tropics and subtropics is now among the cheapest sources of electricity. This is a good thing, given the climate emergency that we are facing.

But I worry what this means for the land rights of pastoralists in arid and semi-arid regions? Are they going to be pushed aside for the purpose of energy generation?

How could the interests of pastoralist and the interests of renewable energy generation to avoid climate breakdown be reconciled? Do best practices exist, code of conducts, etc.?
