Greetings Ann and others,
This is a good article on the Lake Turkana wind farm:
https://debatesindigenas.org/ENG/ns/89-lake-turkana-wind-power.html
Certainly I know our partners the El Molo communities of Loiyangalani are
being adversely affected by the impacts of the huge wind farm on their
traditional territories, areas are out of bounds to grazing, animals are
disturbed by the noise, and communities living in serious poverty have
still gained absolutely nothing despite government promises to improve
roads and to address lack of access to fresh water, nor do they have any
share in the vast electricity produced for Nairobi, some 600kms away!
Apparently there are plans afoot to greatly increase the number of
windmills.
For those interested find info and videos on our Indigenous Living Cultures

Best wishes
Nick
