Hi Fiona,

This sounds like a great opportunity. It would be good to get an update from 
the Economics Working Group prior to the event (Serena Ferrari is 
coordinator) - it could generate some messages or a brief that would be 
worth sharing. The same is true of other working groups, but that one should 
be particularly relevant.

ILRI planned to put in for a side event to be held during the FAO livestock 
meeting 29 September-01 October, and Gregorio advised to think about 
reframing it as a IYRP event.

The FAO livestock meeting falls between two events where we/ILRI-partners 
will already have some private sector in attendance. And also FAO is looking 
to strengthen its focus on private sector. And given that there have been 
some interesting investments in rangelands recently and our own interest in 
private sector engagement (through STELARR) I have suggested framing it from 
a private sector perspective.



Are you happy for me to proceed with this as a IYRP event?  Any thoughts are 
welcome.  Would appreciate quickish response as then need to contact 
potential speakers.
