[Iyrp-gcg] May 6th strategy meeting on IYRP global communications campaign for 2026

Dear All

We would like to invite you to a virtual meeting on *6th May at 10 am GMT+4
(SAST 4pm) to discuss the general contours of the global IYRP
communications campaign that we will launch 1st january 2026. *

We have 8 months left to get it sorted. The meeting will be chaired by
Igshaan and the agenda is as follows:

1. *Objectives and overall strategy* : What would the global campaign look
like? What audiences are we trying to reach?  How best can the key messages
of the 12 global themes be disseminated on a monthly basis? What additional
activities are the thematic Worklng Groups developing?  How to bring the
entire ISG membership of 370+ institutions into this process? What
materials do we have and what might still be missing?

2.  *Global to local  and back again*: How to link the global campaign with
the regional and local campaigns? What are the RISGs planning and how to
coordinate between the global campaign and regional campaigns?

3. *Linking with other global campaigns:* Coordination between IYRP and FAO
communication plans for IYRP.  Are there other entities that we know of
that plan to do a global campaign. How do we reinforce each other?

4.  *Operational matters*:
a) establishing a global campaign team, leads/chairs
b) budget required - rough estimate for now; in-kind contributions vs
centralized budget
c) working backwards from 1st January 2026, what are the deadlines we need
to meet?

5. *AOB* - please feel free to add other items for discussion.
