Dear IYRP GCG

Herewith are the resolutions we have taken during the recent GCG meeting
and most of these would need your response:

1. The GCG decided that there is a need to approach a charity
organization/NGO/NPO who can act as the receiving organization for funds
that IYRP might raise through crowdfunding. *Igshaan, Ann and Engin will
deliberate on possible organisations that can fulfill this role* and it was
suggested that they approach more than one organisation, at least one from
Europe and one from the United States.
2. It was resolved that Igshaan and a few volunteers from the GCG will
brainstorm a possible funding strategy that would consider approaching
various institutions who have formally supported IYRP for possible funding
for the IYRP. Suggestions were made that regional as well as global
insitutions should be considered. Also, exploring a "membership" fee for
capable IYRP supporting institutions that would include in-kind
contributions. *GCG members should volunteer for this task and this does
not mean that those who develop the funding strategy will implement it. *
*3. Maryam *will explore the possibility of IYRP qualifying for GEF funding
by scrutinizing the different funding calls/mechanisms within GEF.
4. *GCG members should suggest names for the vacant IYRP co-chair position.*
It was decided that it should be a female and perhaps from Mongolia. Thus
far, I have three names of women in Mongolia who work in the rangelands and
pastoralism space and Hijaba and I will engage them upon their return from
overseas travel. The GCG is also open to having more than two co-chairs.
5. The GCG accepted the communications strategy development plan and budget
proposed by Yolda and during its development (if sufficient funds are
raised), there should be some alignment to the FAO communications
strategy developed for the International Year of Camelids as the FAO IYRP
communications strategy (to be developed later on) might be similar. This
will ensure that the IYRP ISP and the FAO IYRP communications strategies
are aligned and complementary.

Outputs/outcomes originating from points 1-4 will be finalised by the GCG
via email correspondence or special GCG meeting.

If there is anything unclear or not entirely correct, please let me know.

I hope for your positive responses.

Kind regards
Igshaan
