*Dear Igshaan*

I am very pleased to conclude that there being no further comments, you
have been endorsed unanimously as Co-Chair of the IYRP GCG.
*Welcome and congratulations!*

I also take this opportunity to *thank Jim O'Rourke *who as our Chair for
the past 7 years, has kept us through a steady course of progress, making
sure that we have an all-inclusive initiative that covers all regions, and
all stakeholders.

Furthermore, I will be in touch with Francesca to invite her to take an
active part in our sub-groups.

*Dear GCG members,* please take a look at a draft Blog that I was invited
to prepare for IUCN on the occasion of the International Day of
Desertification and drought (17 June). Any feedback would be appreciated
by wednesday 8th June.

Furthermore, the Stockholm50 side event was successfully concluded - 300
people participated online and 50 people in-person.

Finally, *I kindly request all GCG members* to please send me information
for *the General Update covering the period of March - June 2022.* This
should cover activities already undertaken in your regions and by your
organizations, and those foreseen for the remainder of the year 2022.

Thanks and Best regards
