URGENT deadline of 21st September (tomorrow)

Dear GCG members
We have been asked whether we would consider allowing "International
Support Group for IYRP" to be listed as a supporter of this Declaration.

On the plus side :
>   the declaration calls governments to support IYRP (see bottom of page 5)
>   the declaration includes pastoralists and pastoralism and rangelands in
several paragraphs

On the minus side:
*  it could have said much more about the particular challenges facing
pastoralists.
*  this would be the first time we speak on behalf of the ISG without
having an opportunity to consult the entire partnership

This comes to us from ILRI. I do not know anyone else who has been involved
in drafting this, or its background. I do not recognize any of the
organizations listed either.

Please send your urgent views and response by tomorrow Tuesday 12 noon New
York Time.

Following up our discussion last Friday, we are proposing to have *another
catch up discussion* this *Thursday at 1pm CET*, to touch base with you on
producer’s engagement leading up to the Summit (e.g., declaration, producer
participation, public engagement, etc).



Also, we are proposing to frame this call as a *“shared meal”* in support
of the Summit Global Shared Meal campaign as introduced last Friday.



   - Depending on the time zone you are in, feel free to bring your
   breakfast / lunch / afternoon tea / dinner / snack (ideally meals
   supporting sustainable food systems 😊 ) to the meeting, so we can all
   have a virtual shared meal together as we meet.



   - Also, this is just to kick-start the shared meal campaign among the
   group, we highly encourage you to further organize shared meals among your
   networks, members, etc ideally *on/around the Sunday (19th) *before the
   Summit to amplify the sustainable food systems ideas.



   - More info & guidance on this will be shared middle this week.
