Thanks to all who attended the Meeting of the General Faculty and voted in the all-faculty vote (results attached). More than 1,300 faculty voted. This was the first time in university history that all faculty could vote (not just general faculty)—this included
adjunct faculty and those who may not be on multi-year contracts (or at the university longer than 3 years). This was important as we know that the financial crisis is disproportionately impacting those with less job security and those excluded from general
faculty status. The results suggest that faculty across all ranks are overwhelmingly unified in calling for more budgetary oversight and transparency and reaffirming the importance of our statutory obligation of faculty shared governance in our university.
Results also suggest that there remains a lack of confidence in how senior administration continues to manage the financial crisis. </div>
