The last time we held a Meeting of the General Faculty was in the spring of 2020, at the height of Covid. Over 1700 people attended, and it was instrumental in steering the UA’s responses to the pandemic and the ensuing financial crisis for the better. We hope
this week’s coming meeting will have a similar (or greater!) impact on the current crisis.</div>

Our shared governance work in CALES has been exceptionally strong–staff, faculty, and administrators have worked very hard together to minimize the impact of financial mismanagement. There remains more work to be done, and we want to continue this and share
with others across the university how shared governance strengthens colleges and our academic mission. </div>
