Integrated Projects (VIP).</span></a><span class="x_x_apple-converted-space"> </span>I am writing to you today to announce a call for applications for a seed funding opportunity to support VIP teams. This seed funding comes from the Arizona Institute for Resilient
Environments and Societies (AIRES). AIRES is looking to seed new and existing VIP teams<span class="x_x_apple-converted-space"> </span>from all disciplines that<span class="x_x_apple-converted-space"> </span>support projects aimed at exploring the topic of
resilient environments and societies.<span class="x_x_apple-converted-space"> </span></span></p>
<p class="x_x_xxmsonormal" style="margin-right:0in; margin-left:0in; font-size:11pt; font-family:Calibri,sans-serif; margin-bottom:0in">
<span class="" style="">For those who may be unfamiliar with the VIP team model, the VIP program is a transformative approach to enhancing higher education by engaging both undergraduate and graduate students in ambitious, long-term, large-scale, multidisciplinary
project teams that are led by faculty. The model was first implemented by researchers at Georgia Tech. Over its two decades of existence, VIP has expanded to 40 institutions across the globe. The University of Arizona launched its VIP program in Fall 2020
and has rapidly grown to more than 20 active teams in less than two years.
