In 1966, at a time of civil unrest and social upheaval, Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek and presented us with a future in which our differences made us stronger, our individuality was celebrated (not feared), and collaborative efforts on behalf of humanity
yielded great outcomes. Today, the Roddenberry Fellowship has been created to support 20 of these individuals as they make strides to achieve this goal. The Roddenberry Foundation is looking for 20 activists, leaders, advocates, and change-makers whose work
has the greatest potential to protect the most vulnerable and make the US a more equitable and inclusive place to live. Fellows will be selected to receive funding, as well as tailored support, to help implement a project or initiative in one of four areas:
Civil Rights, Climate Change and Environmental Justice, Immigration and Refugee Rights, LGBTQIA and Women's Rights. The new 12-month program will award $50,000 to each of the 20 selected fellows to support and help implement a project or initiative.<br>

The New York Academy of Medicine, are dedicated to advance the health and well-being of people living in cities. Established in 1847, The New York Academy of Medicine continues to address the health challenges facing New York City and the world’s rapidly growing
urban populations. Their current priorities are healthy aging, disease prevention, and eliminating health disparities through a deep and long-standing commitment to understand the complex factors that determine health in cities. The Paul Klemperer Fellowship
in the History of Medicine supports research using Academy library resources for scholarly study of the history of medicine. It is intended specifically for a scholar in residence at the Academy Library. Each Klemperer fellow receives a stipend of $5,000 to
support travel, lodging and incidental expenses for a flexible period between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. The Klemperer Fellow is expected to spend at least four weeks in New York City, working at The New York Academy of Medicine.<br>

The Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York, is accepting applications for a new research residency program for artists that will allow them to utilize its resources, including the permanent collections and the holdings of the Rakow Research Library, to
inform their practice. Named for the museum's former executive director, the David Whitehouse Artist Residency for Research will enable artists to be in residence for up to three weeks to explore materials at the Rakow Library, the world's foremost library
on the art and history of glass and glassmaking, and to use other scholarly resources available at the museum, including knowledgeable staff in all parts of the organization. One resident will be selected for the first year to be in residence for up to three
weeks in 2018. While in Corning, the artist will be asked to give a presentation about his or her work and research. Artists who feel they would benefit from using the resources of the Rakow Library and spending some time at the Corning Museum of Glass are
encouraged to apply.<br>

The Social Science Research Council is inviting applications for its 2018 Abe Fellowship Program. The program seeks to foster the development of a new generation of researchers who are interested in policy-relevant topics of long-range importance and who are
willing to become key members of a bilateral and global research network built around such topics. The program is open to citizens of the United States and Japan as well as nationals of other countries who can demonstrate strong and serious long-term affiliations
with research communities in Japan or the United States. Applicants must hold a PhD or the terminal degree in their field, or have attained an equivalent level of professional experience at the time of application. Applications from researchers in professions
other than academia are encouraged with the expectation that the product of the fellowship will contribute to the wider body of knowledge on the topic specified.<br>

The Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program, now in its 20th year, is a full-time hands-on training and educational program that provides early career individuals with the opportunity to spend 12 weeks at the National Academies
of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine in Washington, DC. With a stipend of $9,000, fellows learn about science and technology policy and the role that scientists and engineers play in advising the nation. The fellowship program, which operates under the auspices
of the Policy and Global Affairs Division, a program unit within the Academies, is designed to engage early career professionals in the analytical processes that inform U.S. science and technology policy. An immersive experience, the program is designed to
broaden fellows’ appreciation of employment opportunities outside academia and leave them with both a firm grasp of the important and dynamic role of science and technology in decision-making and a better understanding of the role that they can play in strengthening

The Nutricia Research Foundation is a strictly independent Charity established in 1989 by N.V. Verenigde Bedrijven Nutricia. The Foundation’s mission is to support research in the area of human nutrition. The Foundation also recognizes the importance of giving
young scientists the possibility to attend research trainings and/or perform short research projects at renowned scientific institutes. For this purpose International Training Fellowship grants are being provided. The training is devoted to learning new techniques
and performing short research projects not possible at their current institute. The Foundation offer a short and long term fellowship of maximum of 12 months. The maximum fellowship grant amounts to approximately $29,300 while the short term fellowship awards

A program of the American Academy in Rome, the Rome Prize is awarded annually to thirty artists and scholars in the early or middle stages of their careers who exemplify the highest standard of excellence in arts and humanities scholarship. Fellows are chosen
from the disciplines of architecture, design, historic preservation and conservation, landscape architecture, literature, musical composition, visual arts, ancient studies, medieval studies, Renaissance and Early Modern studies, and Modern Italian studies.
Each prize winner is provided with a stipend, meals, a bedroom with private bath, and a study or studio. (Those with children under the age of 18 live in partially subsidized apartments nearby.) Fellows with half-term and full-term fellowships will receive
stipends of $16,000 and $28,000, respectively. Fellow with Two-Year fellowships will receive $28,000 annually. Applicants for all Rome Prize fellowships, must be a citizen of the United States at the time of the application. U.S citizens and foreign nationals
who have lived in the U.S. for three years immediately preceding the application deadline may apply for an NEH postdoctoral fellowship. Graduate students in the humanities may apply only for pre-doctoral fellowships.<br>

The Strong invites researchers to use its wealth of resources on the history of play and playthings. To encourage and support scholarship, The Strong awards research fellowships. Fellowships are granted through three programs which are granted for periods from
1 week to 3 months. The Strong Research Fellowships for scholarly research is about play in all forms and dimensions related to the context, creation, and use of playthings and other play-related artifacts. The Fellowship has a stipend of $500 per week and
may be awarded for a maximum of 4 weeks. Mary Valentine and Andrew Cosman Research Fellowships is for scholarly research about games of all types and related topics of play. The Fellowship has a stipend of $500 per week and may be awarded for maximum 4 weeks.
Frances M. Williams Research Fellowships for scholarly research is about puzzles, puzzle play, and related topics. A stipend of $600 may be awarded for a maximum of 1 week. The G. Rollie Adams Research Fellowships for scholarly research is about play with
a stipend of $500 stipend per week may be awarded for a maximum for 4 weeks. <o:p>
