<p>As you might know elections for Faculty Senate are under way. In a number of Colleges, including yours, there are insufficient candidates to fill the designated seats. The details are below, including how many signatures are needed on the nominating petitions.
Instructions and petitions are attached.</p>

<p>Could you please make an effort to encourage appropriate faculty to run for the College Senate seats? We are trying hard to revitalize Senate, and have met with some success so far -- but we need committed faculty to represent each College, and that is
where you can help.</p>

</p>
<p>The next phase starts on March 7, so there is time to get out the word to encourage nominees. I hope you will help in this task by contacting your faculty collectively, or specific individuals, to encourage them to participate.</p>
