Dear CALES Colleagues,
A new funding round for the AZDA Specialty Crop Block Grant has just been announced with a due date of March 6th 2026.
Full details are included in the email from AZDA below.
If you are intending to apply, please let the Preaward Team know as soon as possible, by completing the Proposal Intake Form here:

This will enable us to effectively manage team workloads and ensure you have the support you need to successfully submit your proposals.
Based on the submission deadline, the following is a timeline for key document production and submission for review.
* 02/24/26 - finalize budget, budget justification, title and project period, F&A and credit splits
* 03/03/26 - UAR proposal must be received by SPS no later than 8am on 03/03/26 to meet the 3-day deadline for guaranteed submission - this will need to include the full application package as Sponsored Projects have advised they need to see this before the coversheet required for final submission can be signed.

Now Accepting Applications for the 2026 AZ Specialty Crop Block Grant Program
The 2026 AZ Specialty Crop Block Grant Program grant manual is now available and applications are now being accepted. To view the manual, please go to: https://agriculture.az.gov/grants<https://agriculture.az.gov/grants>.
This year's grant application deadline is 11:59:59 P.M. (MST) Friday, March 6, 2026.
Application Packets are required to be submitted on-line at bit.ly/AZSCBGP-2026<http://bit.ly/AZSCBGP-2026>. See instructions at the website above and Appendix I of the manual. It is highly recommended that you review the instructions as soon as possible to become familiar with the on-line application process.
There will be two virtual webinars held via Zoom on Tuesday, February 17th and Friday, February 20th. Please register to learn more about the purpose of the program, the required application documents, and how to apply online. The purpose of this program is to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in Arizona.
The Arizona Department of Agriculture anticipates that these grant monies will be available to successful applicants by late 2026. AZDA projects that approximately $1,250,000 will be available to be distributed in the fiscal year 2026 funding cycle.
