[Faculty] Federal Government Closure

Dear Colleagues,

By now you have likely heard that the federal government was shut down effective today.

The duration of the shutdown is unknown, but it will certainly affect many federal government services, including those related to research funding.  Unless otherwise indicated, you can assume that deadlines for proposal submissions and annual reporting to federal agencies are unchanged, as long as the portals for proposal submission remain open and RFPs posted online are unchanged.  On the other hand, Notices of Award are likely to be delayed, and there could be some delays in post-award funding increments.

During this time, federal personnel (e.g., program officers) will not be available.  So sending emails to such folks to inquire about funding opportunities or RFPs are not likely to generate a response.
