IUSE is NSF's flagship program designed to enhance undergraduate STEM education by improving student engagement, learning outcomes, persistence, and retention. With two annual deadlines (January and July), the program supports innovative and equitable approaches to STEM education for undergraduates. You'll hear firsthand insights from two U of A IUSE Principal Investigators (PIs):

  * Dr. Chris Impey, Distinguished Professor of Astronomy: A Machine Learning Approach to Improve Students' Scientific Reasoning and Writing<https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=2020784>.
  * Dr. Ed Prather, Professor of Astronomy: Changing physics and astronomy education culture: a reflective practice model of faculty development to support diversity, equity, inclusion, and excellence<https://www.nsf.gov/awardsearch/showAward?AWD_ID=2142045&HistoricalAwards=false>.

Our panelists will share tips for crafting a successful IUSE proposal and best practices for implementing impactful STEM education projects. Whether you're new to NSF funding or looking to sharpen your approach, this session promises actionable advice.

Best wishes,

Courtney
