We respectfully acknowledge the University of Arizona is on the land and territories of Indigenous peoples. Today, Arizona is home to 22 federally recognized tribes, with Tucson being home to the O’odham and the Yaqui. Committed to diversity and inclusion, the University strives to build sustainable relationships with sovereign Native Nations and Indigenous communities through education offerings, partnerships, and community service.

ALVSCE Colleagues,
This email is to draw your attention to the latest update on the RII Federal Funding Updates<https://research.arizona.edu/administration/federal-funding-updates?j=1713153&sfmc_sub=35993279&l=1205_HTML&u=38967214&mid=514008426&jb=1> webpage.
Specifically, a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) out of NY state with nationwide impacts has placed, at minimum, a delay on implementation of the President’s Executive Orders pertaining to research funding. Specifically, “updated guidance is to continue work on your federal awards unless you have a project specific stop work order, suspension or termination from your federal award or prime sponsor”.
Please remember that if you receive such a “pause work” directive from your sponsor, forward it to me, your unit head, your unit lead business manager, and sponsor at arizona.edu<mailto:sponsor at arizona.edu>.
If you have any uncertainties about the status of your directives at this time (e.g., you received a project specific directive to pause work prior to the present implementation of the TRO), please be in communication with your program officer for their guidance as to whether the directive still applies under the TRO.
The back and forth on these orders has created confusion, and the impact on your programs are well recognized. For this reason, I will continue to maintain regular email communications at times when guidance changes, such as at this time.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Jon
