[Faculty] Call for Nominations: ALVSCE Strategy Working Group Faculty Representatives

The Faculty Council is seeking nominations for four faculty representatives to serve on the newly established ALVSCE Strategy Working Group, a standing committee that will provide integrated recommendations on priorities and strategies for CALES and CES.
The ALVSCE Strategy Working Group will include the 13 members:
4 faculty representatives nominated by the ALVSCE Faculty Council, staggered 2-year terms, including at least one CES faculty member.
4 staff representatives nominated by the ALVSCE Staff Council, staggered 2-year terms.
3 administrators appointed by the CALES Dean.
2 unit heads appointed by the CALES Dean, ideally one from a school and one from a unit.
About the Working Group
This joint working group will advise the Vice President for the Division of Agriculture, Life and Veterinary Sciences, and Cooperative Extension on matters related to the Division's strategy and budget, with a specific focus on achieving the ALVSCE Vision and Missions.
Faculty Representative Requirements

  *
Four faculty representatives with staggered 2-year terms (for the first year, 2 faculty will serve 1-year terms)
  *
At least one representative must be CES faculty
  *
Faculty may be renewed for unlimited terms
  *
One faculty member will be designated to regularly coordinate and communicate with the ALVSCE Faculty Council

Nomination Process

  *
Self-nominations are recommended.
  *
Faculty representatives must hold at least a .50 ALVSCE faculty appointment
  *
Complete the application (link is below) explaining your motivation, interest, and relevant experience.
  *
Nominees must confirm their willingness to serve and complete the application if nominated by others.
  *
Initial appointments will begin in Fall 2025.

Selection
The Faculty Council will review all nominations and select representatives based on experience and to reflect diverse perspectives across the division.
Deadline
Applications are due by April 30, 2025 11:59pm.
The ALVSCE Strategy Working Group represents an important opportunity for faculty to help shape the future direction of our college and extension service. We encourage your participation in this important shared governance initiative.
