[Faculty] Faculty Senate Meeting – September 9, 2024

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the CALES Senators (Melanie Hingle, Durate Diaz, and Bobby Torres), we invite you are invited to attend the next Faculty Senate Meeting, via Zoom (see link below) which will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the Old Main Silver and Sage Room. This meeting offers an opportunity for faculty members to engage in meaningful discussions on important university matters and receive updates from key university leaders.

Agenda Highlights:

  *   Call to Order and Approval of the Agenda with Vice Chair of the Faculty, Mona Hymel.
  *   Approval of Minutes from the April 1, 2024, and May 6, 2024, meetings.
  *   Open Session with brief remarks by Senator Lucy Ziurys, UASC President Melanie Madden, and Senator Joellen Russell.
  *   Statements and Reports from the Chair, Interim Provost Ron Marx, and the Senior Vice President/COO John Arnold.
  *   New Business, including:
     *   SAPC Update by Co-Chairs Kristin Little and Tim Ottusch.
     *   Faculty and Staff Workload Group report from Secretary of the Faculty Katie Zeiders.
     *   Discussion on Credit for University Service with Vice Provost Andrea Romero.
     *   General Education Committee Update by Chair Mark Stegeman.
  *   Written Reports from various university committees, including the APPC, DEI, and Constitution and Bylaws Committee.

The session will conclude with an informative presentation by John Arnold, our Senior Vice President and COO, followed by a Q&A session.
The meeting adjourns at 5:00 p.m.
