[Faculty] Research Proposal Submissions

Dear ALVSCE Colleagues,

ALVSCE had a banner year in 2023 for research with over $43M in extramural funds brought to UA to support our collective cutting-edge investigations into agriculture, life and environmental sciences.  This is something to celebrate!  And your dedicated effort to an increase in excellent proposal submissions is what resulted in this success.  In 2023, we had a 16% increase in proposal submissions relative to 2022, and a 36% increase in proposal submissions relative to 2021.

The increase in proposal submission rates places heavy demands on our dedicated Pre-Award Grants and Contracts staff who have been key collaborators in our success.

We have observed several recurring issues related to submissions that we are working to address with updated policies and workflows (more on that soon). In the meantime, please adhere to existing policy:

Principal Investigators must notify pre-award support staff of their intent to submit 20 business days prior to the sponsor's deadline.  It is critical to ensuring that all submissions are given the attention they deserve.
