Dear Colleagues:

I am writing to highlight a few opportunities that have arrived at my inbox recently. I hope that you can take advantage of at least one of them.

NIH-Funded UA Couples Research Study - Participate Now!

This NIH-funded research study<https://news.arizona.edu/story/uarizona-psychologists-receive-29m-study-neural-mechanisms-emotions-couples> examines the role of close relationships in shaping mental health outcomes. The UA Couples Research Study is seeking participants who are 18-55 years of age, live together, and who are in a romantic relationship. Both members of the couple would participate in our neuroimaging study. In many ways, members of the UA community (including staff) are ideal participants.

Fish and Wildlife Service National Fish Passage Program - Due December 31, 2023

The National Fish Passage Program (NFPP) is a voluntary program that provides direct technical and financial assistance to public and private entities to remove instream barriers and restore aquatic organism passage and aquatic connectivity, this includes floodplain restoration, bridges, and water diversions. Interested? Please discuss with your Grants & Contracts Manager<https://research.cales.arizona.edu/pre-award-process> no later than December 1st, 2023.

Future Leaders for Food and Agriculture (FFAR Fellows) - Due February 22 or April 15, 2024 depending on fellowship type

The consensus among employers is that U.S. universities could better prepare a career-ready STEM workforce by breaking down disciplinary silos and increasing the focus on professional development and "soft-skills." The FFAR Fellows program guides cohorts of 25 graduate students through a 3-year program of professional development and mentorship. By co-sponsoring a PhD student for the 3-year fellowship, leaders in industry and non-governmental organizations build connections to students and university research programs as they mentor a developing researcher. Two fellowship categories are available: (1) stipend + professional development, and (2) professional development only fellowship.

Cheers,

Zelieann
