[Faculty] Fw: 2022 CUES Distinguished Fellowships - Nominations now open

Everyone,

This is a reminder that the nomination process for the 2022 CUES Distinguished Fellowships for advancing faculty teaching innovation is entering its final month.  Please see the notice below for details.

CALS is allowed up to two nominations from the college. This requires us to view all faculty proposals and select the top two proposals prior to final submission.  Consequently, all faculty who would like to apply for a CUES Fellowship this year should send all of their supporting materials, including required letters of support (other than the Dean's letter), directly to me on or before March 25. Please send these to me via email with all attachments in a single email.

A small committee will review the proposals and select our two CALS finalists.  We will provide you with a Dean's letter of support.  I believe the process requires final submission directly by the faculty member, but we will confirm this prior to actual submission.  The UA submission deadline is Monday, April 4.

2022 CUES Distinguished Fellowships
CUES Distinguished Fellowships aim to acknowledge and advance faculty scholarship and innovation in university education.

Fellows propose and conduct a CUES-funded project and study addressing educational scholarship, innovation, and/or grand challenges in university education, aligned with the CUES mission<https://arizona.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=582a73984800987ae88017de4&id=39b5f135b2&e=61e09ef93d>.

Funding & Award
Awardees each receive the title of CUES Distinguished Fellow and a grant of up to $20,000 annually for two or three years, depending on project scope. The title of CUES Distinguished Fellow remains in perpetuity.

Nomination Deadline
Distinguished Fellowship candidates are nominated by their college. College nominations are due by April 4, 2022.  Each college is limited to two nominations per cycle. This limitation may require an earlier within-college mechanism to select nominees.

Eligibility

  *   Affiliation.  Nominees must be University of Arizona faculty employees who are tenured, tenure-track, continuing-status, continuing-status track, or career-track, as listed in the UArizona system.
  *   Qualifications.  Nominees will have demonstrated excellence in and commitment to raising the value and quality of the learning experience at UArizona, with particular focus on Educational Scholarship, Educational Innovation, or Educational Grand Challenges.  Nominees will also demonstrate promise to advance the scholarship of teaching and learning through their proposed project and lead Broader Engagement activities.
