Good morning everyone,
As promised, I have attached a suggested template for the CV to be submitted into UA Vitae. This template follows that which is used for promotion dossier submission and thus, if you have a promotion in your future, it would be best to use this template.
I have listed the main sections of the CV in blue, with subheadings in red. All faculty, regardless of track, will use this template. But obviously, the resulting CV will look different depending on your track. For example, Professors of Practice would have a significant amount of data in the Instructional and Advising sections, and may have less in Grants Awarded. Extension Faculty, you will be uploading the information about your programs and their impact in the two "Extension" sections in UA Vitae - and will be using the CV template to track publications and funding.
I realize that not every piece of data will fit into one of the neat slots I provided. Do the best you can, and remember that I will be holding twice-weekly office hours for UA Vitae beginning the week of January 3.
A few more notes about the attached:
* A couple of sections (grants awarded, service and outreach) request that you list only that which occurred in the last five years OR in your time in rank. It is up to each CALS unit to identify the actual time period that should be included. For example, to make it easier for peer reviewers, your unit may request that the whole CV only include data for the last three years - please make certain you are aware of the time period requested by your unit before you begin working on the CV.
* Some of the data requested in the CV (publications, teaching) will already be uploaded into UA Vitae by the University. So listing it here on the CV may be considered optional - but keep in mind that it might be appreciated by peer reviewers if all of the information were included in one document, so taking the time to list everything in your CV might be a good idea. Also - as a reminder - PLEASE BE SURE TO CHECK the data that is uploaded by the University to make certain that all of the numbers agree with your records. Any data that is missing from the uploaded data can be placed into the CV. Any data that has errors, please bring it to my attention.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
