[Faculty] Revised University Travel Authorization Policies

Dear ALVSCE Faculty,

The University has announced revised travel authorization policies for domestic out of state and international travel.  The revised travel  policies are available here<https://policy.fso.arizona.edu/fsm/1400/1418>.

In state travel for institutional research or essential meetings is currently not restricted. All travelers should follow CDC guidelines for COVID-19 mitigation.

Out of state travel is permitted for essential research and non research activities according to the procedures and processes detailed on the travel authorization web page.   Out of state travel will not be approved to attend conferences or for professional development activities.

The approval process for domestic out of state travel requires stepwise approval at the unit, college and university levels using the attached Coronavirus Domestic Travel Questionnaire, which is also available here.<https://www.fso.arizona.edu/sites/default/files/2020-08/coronavirus_domestic_travel.pdf>  Steps to request and receive approval are as follows:

1. Complete the Coronavirus Domestic Travel Questionnaire in consultation with your unit head or his/her designated appointee.

2. Submit the completed and signed questionnaire to your unit head.

3. Unit head will review, approve and forward  the questionnaire to me for approval and final submission to RII. RII will review and return for revision or approve.

4. Upon travel request approval by RII, your unit business office will initiate a domestic travel authorization using the standard travel authorization form and process.

International Travel is permitted for essential research and non research activities.  Please refer to the travel authorization web page for policies and travel request procedures.
