[Faculty] Provost Investment Fund Call for Proposals

Dear CALS Faculty and Staff,

The memo below announces the latest Provost's Investment Fund (PIF) call for proposals. Although prior PIF calls were coordinated through and submitted by the Dean's Office, for this solicitation Provost Folks is seeking proposals directly from the UA community.  Proposals must explicitly align with at least one component of the UA's strategic plan. A sustainability plan is also needed for projects that expect to continue beyond the PIF funding period.

While there is no requirement to coordinate proposal development at the college level, we encourage you to solicit our input by sending proposals to Sangita Pawar( sangita at email.arizona.edu<mailto:sangita at email.arizona.edu>) at least one week prior to the October 1 submission due date. Please keep in mind that the college has extremely limited resources to support projects beyond the PIF funding period unless they are also well aligned with the CALS strategic plan and objectives. We will be pleased to confer with you at any time as you develop proposals.

RE:       Provost's Investment Fund Fall 2019 Proposal Call

I am pleased to launch the call for funding proposals from the Provost's Investment Fund (PIF) for Fall 2019. I am particularly interested in innovative ideas from faculty, staff, department heads, and appointed professionals. Proposals need to be explicitly aligned with UA's strategic plan<https://strategicplan.arizona.edu/> and institutional priorities and describe how the proposed initiative will advance the goals of the strategic plan pillars.

Funding requests may range between $15,000 to $100,000 per year for a maximum of 2 (two) years. For projects that are expected to continue beyond the PIF funding period, a sustainable plan with available funding sources must be included in the proposal. Units are strongly encouraged to collaborate with each other as appropriate.

Proposal must be submitted online through UA Competition Space<https://arizona.infoready4.com/#homePage>, which will be available on September 5th, 2019.

For Fall 2019, applicants must submit all requests no later than October 1st, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. The system will not accept applications after the 5:00 p.m. deadline.
