Dear Dean Burgess,
            As a member of the UA Faculty Nominating Committee I assist in filling vacancies on shared governance committees across campus. We recently issued a survey (below) to all university faculty asking them for expressions of interest to volunteer for faculty committees, which is the primary opportunity for faculty to volunteer for university-level service and  participate in shared governance.

In previous years, messages from deans to their respective faculty have proven valuable in increasing faculty participation. I would like to request that you send the survey memo below to all the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences faculty with a personal note from you encouraging them to complete the survey.
