[Faculty] Important request from Dr. Burgess - Survey Regarding Visits with NIFA Staff

Good morning,

On behalf of Vice President and Dean Burgess, please review this important request and respond to the questions below by NOON on Friday, March 22.  Please send your responses to me at emattes at email.arizona.edu<mailto:emattes at email.arizona.edu>.

The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) received an urgent request from a congressional committee regarding the number of visits faculty and administrators from Board on Agriculture Assembly colleges/agencies make to Washington, DC within a year. This was asked with regard to potential changes that might occur because of the proposed NIFA relocation.  Even if your answer to question #1 is 'none' or 'zero', please respond to #1 and then skip #2 and #3.


  1.  Annually, how many trips do you typically make to Washington, D.C. to visit with funding agencies, attend conferences, visit the Hill, or meet with other organizations?


  1.  Do you typically visit with USDA NIFA staff on your trips to DC? (Frequently, Sometimes, Rarely, Never?)


  1.  On those trips, do you typically use your trips to DC to accomplish more than one thing, such as visiting with more than one funding agency, including USDA NIFA? (Frequently, Sometimes, Rarely, Never?)
