Everyone,


I want to introduce you to Rosemary Brandt, CALS new Media Relations Manager.  Rosemary joined the marketing, communications and recruitment team on June 10.  In her new role Rosemary will work closely with the ALVSCE Research team to publicize the research findings of our faculty.  She will also work with the UA News team to place stories in local and national media outlets.


Rosemary comes to us from the University of Arizona Press where she worked as the publicity manager for the past five years.  Her previous experience also includes work as a producer for Bill Buckmaster Communications and as a broadcast promotions and advertising specialist for Arizona Public Media.


Now, we could use your help.  One of the primary roles of the CALS Media Relations Team is to help bridge the gap between academia and the world at large. Media coverage has the power to not only elevate the prestige of our institution, but bolster enrollment, support research funding initiatives, and further the global scholarly conversation.


Rosemary is asking faculty to go to the survey link below and complete the CALS Media Relations survey.  This survey is designed to be a foundation to move us forward. Our success is directly dependent upon continued and open communication. If you have news developments, media requests, or story ideas, let us know. Please keep in mind, the more lead time you give us, the more opportunity we have to secure thoughtful and meaningful coverage.
