Dear Faculty,
We are receiving Federal guidance that in the near future most Federal Funding Agencies will require all researchers to have an ORCID ID.
ORCID provides a unique digital identifier that distinguishes you from every other researcher and, through integration in key research workflows such as manuscript and grant submission, supports automated linkages between you and your professional activities ensuring that your work is recognized.
ORCID is being integrated into various systems that NIH and NSF is using.
In order to be prepared for the coming changes, please register for an ORCID ID at: https://orcid.org/register
Once you have your ORCID ID or if you already have it, please send it to your Grants & Contracts Managers:
Rachel Crookston (crooksto at email.arizona.edu<mailto:crooksto at email.arizona.edu>) for ENVS, ACBS, and La Paz, Maricopa and Yuma Counties
Fatemah Dili (fdili at email.arizona.edu<mailto:fdili at email.arizona.edu>) for SPS, Ento & Apache, Coconino, Gila, Graham, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal and Yavapai Counties
Lynn Frazier (lef1 at email.arizona.edu<mailto:lef1 at email.arizona.edu>) for SNRE, Tribal and Cochise, Greenlee, Pima and Santa Cruz Counties
David Reeves (djreeves at email.arizona.edu<mailto:djreeves at email.arizona.edu>) for AREC, AgEd, FCS
Theresa Spicer (tspicer at email.arizona.edu<mailto:tspicer at email.arizona.edu>) for BE, Nutr Sc
They will need it when preparing your grants.
If you need help with setting it up or populating your publications please don't hesitate to reach out to your Grants & Contracts Managers or me.
Thank you
Sangita
