[Faculty] Happy Holidays! And UA Vitae.

Good morning everyone,

As we move into the well-deserved Holiday Closure, many of us will begin entering our annual reporting into UA Vitae. I wanted to send you a few reminders...


*       Your respective units should have informed you about deadline for entering your annual information. IF you have a joint appointment with Extension, and IF the Extension and unit deadlines differ, your deadline will be the earlier of the two.

*       In 2020, the promotion dossier preparation system will begin transferring to UA Vitae - do not panic - it is my understanding that this transition will be managed by the Vice Provost's office in stages, and the plan is to test this in one or more small colleges (not CALS) in 2020 - BUT let this be a stimulus to make sure that each of you enter ALL of your annual reporting into UA Vitae.

*       You will find small, but significant, changes in UA Vitae this year that will help with reporting - for example, there is the addition of a text box (mentioned in an October email from me) in the Grants & Contracts section that will allow you to convey anything unusual about a certain grant, e.g., that you have applied for a no-cost-extension, or that this grant is a sub-contract to another larger grant - anything at all can be entered into this text box that will allow reviewers to understand the grant status.

*       TCE scores for the spring, 2019 semester have been downloaded into your UA Vitae. TCE scores for fall, 2019 will not be downloaded due to an upgrading of the reporting system. In the spring, we will all receive an email from the Office of the Provost that will instruct us on how to manually download our fall TCE scores.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me - or to your unit UA Vitae coordinator - with any questions at all. As you enter your data, if you have thoughts on edits that could make UA Vitae reporting easier, please send them to me. We won't be able to make these changes for this year, but I will work with the UA Vitae team to have them inserted next year.
