Subject: [Faculty] Transforming STEM Education in HSIs in the U.S. - A Consensus Report

Dear Colleagues,

As members of the faculty in the premier STEM-focused Division on campus, we are all already leading the way on capacity-building and strengthening to support STEM students at the UA.

The attached report serves to highlight very specific ways in which we might further contribute to UA student success in STEM, with an emphasis on underrepresented minority students (broadly defined, and inclusive of people with disabilities, women, veterans, LGBTQ students as well as people of color and first generation to college).

I personally found this report very helpful when crafting a USDA training grant last summer, and highly recommend it (especially if you are developing training grants or NSF broader impacts sections).

Please reach out to our UA colleagues and authors of this report, Vignesh Subbian and Guadalupe Lozano, at steminhsi at email.arizona.edu<mailto:steminhsi at email.arizona.edu> if you are interested in collaborating on specific recommendations outlined in the report.
