Job Title: Faculty Director of Special Initiatives (UA Internal Only)
Posting Number: A21203
Job Description:
The Faculty Director of Special Initiatives position will provide a tenured faculty member or a continuing-status professional with a part-time position to collaborate on selected projects and development programs offered by the Office of Faculty Affairs. This position will enable the selected candidate to expand his or her leadership experience by working on programs that support faculty and department heads in a range of areas, including efforts to develop a more inclusive and supportive campus climate. The Director will otherwise retain his or her faculty position. This faculty-administrator position will enable the appointee to stay engaged in research or teaching with a workload modified to accommodate this appointment , which is configured much the same as that of an academic department head). A mutually agreed-upon workload plan will be developed with the candidate and relevant units to cover half of the Director’s assigned teaching and other duties on a course-release basis. The Faculty Director may be reappointed annually, subject to budget, program needs and performance, as with all administrators.
