UA ORD sponsored Grant Writing Workshop Priority Registration is Open / NSF CAREER “Commit to Submit” deadline extended

The Office for Research & Discovery’s Research Development Services (ORD, RDS) is welcoming back the popular “Write Winning Grant Proposals<http://arizona.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b6ba9388f9c749678c5f1628d&id=b279566b9a&e=db7a664467>” (page 2 of download) with M. S. (Peg) AtKisson<http://arizona.us8.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=b6ba9388f9c749678c5f1628d&id=f4b085976f&e=db7a664467> of Grant Writers’ Seminars & Workshops. The workshop will take place April 6, 2016 from 8:00am to 5:00pm (lunch included) in the Kiewit Auditorium, UA Cancer Center. Due to the popularity of this event in 2015, ORD has increased the total seats available to UA faculty in 2016.

Priority registration for this workshop is currently available through February 22, 2016 to UA Faculty participating in the NSF CAREER “Commit to Submit<http://arizona.us8.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b6ba9388f9c749678c5f1628d&id=564b45d5bf&e=db7a664467>” program. The “Commit to Submit” program is open to any faculty submitting to the July 2016 deadlines for NSF’s CAREER award. To register, please email RDS at ResDev at email.arizona.edu<mailto:ResDev at email.arizona.edu> with your name, department, rank, and draft CAREER proposal title by midnight on February 22, 2016.

Open registration to the “Write Winning Grant Proposals” for UA Faculty begins on February 23, 2016 at noon through UAccess Learning.

Registration for the “Commit to Submit” program has been extended to February 29, 2016! To register for the “Commit to Submit” program, potential applicants should have their Department Head send a short endorsement email to ResDev at email.arizona.edu<mailto:ResDev at email.arizona.edu> providing the following information: participant name, a proposed title for the proposal, name of the NSF directorate the PI intends to submit to, and a brief statement about the applicant's eligibility for the program (e.g. assistant professor on the tenure track).

“Commit to Submit” includes the following mentored group activities:

  *   Introductory Session: short presentations on research concept and education plan
  *   Proposal Development: timeline and proposal requirements for the CAREER proposal
  *   DC Visit with NSF Program Officers: coordinated by Lewis Burke Associates
  *   Proposal Preparation: iterative sessions for proposal preparation
  *   Concept Review (Pink Team): review by campus CAREER experts and external discipline experts
  *   Final Review (Red Team): final proposal review by CAREER experts
