WhiteHall Foundation - Research Grants
Deadline: October 1, 2015
Research grants are available to established scientists of all ages working at accredited institutions in the United States. Applications will be judged on the scientific merit and the innovative aspects of the proposal as well as on the competence of the applicant. Research grants of up to three years will be provided. Research grants will not be awarded to investigators who have already received, or expect to receive, substantial support from other sources, even if it is for an unrelated purpose. Research grants normally range from $30,000 to $75,000 per year.

WhiteHall Foundation - Grants-in-Aid
Deadline: October 1, 2015
The Grants-in-Aid program is designed for researchers at the assistant professor level who experience difficulty in competing for research funds because they have not yet become firmly established. Grants-in-Aid can also be made to senior scientists. All applications will be judged on the scientific merit and innovative aspects of the proposal, as well as on past performance and evidence of the applicant's continued productivity. Grants-in-Aid are awarded for a one-year period and do not exceed $30,000.

Constellation - E2 Energy to Education Grants
Deadline: October 1, 2015
Grants of up to $25,000 will be awarded in support of local community projects that inspire students to think differently about energy. Projects should be team-oriented, learning-focused, hands-on demonstrations that reach a minimum of one hundred students. The project must be located in an area where Constellation does business. To be eligible, applicants must be a school, school district, or 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Foundation for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation - Injured Soldier Rehab Research
Deadline: October 1, 2015
A single grant of $20,000 will be awarded for research on a topic related to the rehabilitation of injured soldiers. Special consideration will be given to projects focused on outcomes and/or comparative effectiveness research. To be eligible, the applicant and/or at least one co-investigator must be a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or the Association of Academic Physiatrists.

National Education Association Foundation - Learning and Leadership Grants
Deadline: October 15, 2015
Grants of up to $5,000 will be awarded to support the professional development of public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education. The grant amount is for individuals and groups engaged in collegial study. To be eligible, applicants must be a pre-K-12 public school educator; a public school education support professional; or a faculty or staff member at a public institution of higher education. The foundation encourages education support professionals to apply. Preference will be given to members of the National Education Association.

Simons Foundation - Investigators in Math, Physics, and Theoretical Computer Science

The Simons Foundation's Mathematics and Physical Sciences division invites nominations for Simons Investigators in Mathematics, Physics, and Theoretical Computer Science. The program aims to provide a stable base of support for outstanding scientists, enabling them to undertake long-term investigations of the fundamental questions in their fields. The intent of the program is to support these scientists in their most productive years, when they are establishing creative new research directions, providing leadership to the field, and effectively mentoring junior scientists. An investigator will receive $100,000 per year in research support. An additional $10,000 per year will be provided to the Investigator's department

Simons Foundation - Investigators in the Mathematical Modeling of Living Systems

The Simons Foundation invites nominations for Simons Investigators in the Mathematical Modeling of Living Systems (MMLS). The MMLS program aims to support such approaches and foster a scientific culture of theory-experiment collaboration similar to that prevailing in the physical sciences. To encourage young researchers to pursue this endeavor, the MMLS program will provide a long-term, stable base of support, enabling a focus on model-based approaches to important issues in the life sciences. An Investigator will receive research support in an amount initially set at $100,000 per year. An additional $10,000 per year will be provided to the Investigator's department.

Simons Foundation - Math-X Investigators
Deadline: October 28, 2015
This program is designed to encourage novel collaborations between mathematics and other fields in science or engineering by providing funds to professors at U.S. and Canadian universities to establish programs at the interface between mathematics and other fields of science or engineering. A Math-X Investigator is appointed for a period of five years and will receive support in an amount of $300,000 per year, which includes up to 20 percent in indirect costs to the Investigator's institution. Renewal for an additional five years is contingent upon the evaluation of the scientific impact of the Investigator.

Macula Society - Research Projects
Deadline: December 1, 2015
Grants of up to $50,000 will be awarded to support clinically relevant research into macular or retinal vascular diseases. Priority will be given to pilot projects with the potential to obtain additional external funding and to projects coordinating the work of the society's general membership. Projects that facilitate collaboration among society members to study a particular disease also are encouraged. To be eligible, applicants must be Macular Society members in good standing at the time of application.

Glaucoma Foundation - 2016 Research Projects
Deadline: January 1, 2016
Grants of up to $40,000 will be awarded for research projects related to exfoliation syndrome and exfoliation glaucoma to further efforts to identify and develop novel approaches to preserve visual function and reverse blindness caused by glaucoma. The foundation is accepting applications from researchers for novel research projects. To be eligible, applicants must hold a full-time faculty position or the equivalent.

Aaron Copland Fund for Music - Contemporary American Music Recording Projects
Deadline: January 15, 2016
Grants of up to $20,000 will be awarded to projects that document and provide wider exposure for the music of contemporary American composers. Preference will be given to first recordings, although reissues of significant recordings are eligible if the music is not available from other sources. The fund is interested primarily in supporting recordings of works by living American composers and those who are recently deceased and favors works that were composed more recently.

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation - Investigator-Initiated Research to Build Culture of Health
Deadline: Accepting application on a rolling basis
The program aims to provide individuals, organizations, communities, policy makers, and researchers with the empirical evidence needed to address the key determinants of health necessary to building a Culture of Health in the United States. RWJF expects to fund between five and twelve grants annually for periods of up to thirty months. Applicants must be either public entities or nonprofit organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Singing for Change - Projects to Address Social and Environmental Problems

Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to progressive nonprofit organizations working to address the root causes of social or environmental problems. Priority will be given to organizations that collaborate with other groups to find innovative ways of solving common problems. Grants will range in size from $1,000 to $10,000. Grants are made only to nonprofit organizations with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

American Psychological Foundation - John and Polly Sparks Grant
Deadline: May 15, 2016
A single grant of $17,000 will be awarded to an early career psychologist in support of scientifically based research related to methods of intervention and/or treatment for serious emotional disturbance in children. Priority will be given to a project that has the potential to provide a model for broad-based applications across the country. To be eligible, applicants must be a psychologist with an Ed.D, Psy.D, or Ph.D. from an accredited university and be no more than seven years postdoctoral.

Fellowships

School for Advanced Research - Anne Ray Fellowship
One nine-month residential fellowship is available for a Native scholar with a Master's or PhD in the arts, humanities, or social sciences to work on their own writing or curatorial research project. This may include research and writing for a future exhibition at an arts or cultural institution. Fellows receive a $40,000 stipend in addition to housing and office space on the SAR campus. This fellowship is made possible through the generous support of the Anne Ray Charitable Trust.

American Academy of Neurology Institute - Medical Education Research Training Fellowship
Deadline: October 1, 2015
One-year grants of up to $65,000 will be awarded to AANI members at the beginning of their careers in medical education research to support their education and research activities. To be eligible, all applicants must be active or junior AANI members embarking on a career in medical education research, and must have completed a neurology, child neurology, or neuro-developmental disabilities residency or neurology fellowship within the past five years.

Open Society Foundations - Soros Justice Fellowships in Advocacy and Media

Fellowships of up to $110,250 will be awarded to outstanding individuals working to implement innovative projects that advance reform and spur debate on a range of issues facing the criminal justice system in the United States.
