[Faculty] Faculty Summary

Dear Fellow CALS Faculty,

Attached is a summary from our last Senate Meetings in March.  For more
information, go to the faculty governance website at
http://facultygovernance.arizona.edu/.  

The Senate opened with a tribute to Dr. Richard Ruiz, who recently passed
away.

The Senate then discussed amendments to the policy for concurrent and
sequential degrees.  If you want clarification, check with Dennis Ray
(dtray at email.arizona.edu <mailto:dtray at email.arizona.edu> ).  

Also, there was a discussion and the Senate approved the merger of The
School of Information Resources and Library Science and The School of
Information: Science, Technology, and Arts to form the new School of
Information.

Finally, there was a presentation on the Never Settle strategic plan.
